Qualities and application

Chokeberry is an extraordinary plant that can select from its environment only those substances it needs to develop, disregarding other substances, including those unbeneficial for humans. It does not absorbs any industrial or transport pollution.

Chokeberry fruits have incredible qualities and composition. They are rich in anthocyanins that cleanse the organism from harmful free radicals responsible for lowering the immunity and contribute to formation of various illnesses, such as neoplastic diseases or cold. Active substances present in chokeberry fruits neutralise the negative influence of radioactive radiation and bind heavy metals within the organism for easier excretion of these substances.

Moreover, chokeberry acts as a strong antioxidant and antimicrobial, has an anti-inflammatory antivirus and anti-haemorrhagic qualities. It also strengthens blood vessel layers.
After two years of research Polish scientists proved, that chokeberry juice lowers arterial hypertension. Chokeberry products regulate pressure, blood circulation and treat inflammatory conditions in minor blood vessels.

Owing to this fact, chokeberry products may be used in treatment (also preventive) of:

  • arterial hypertension,
  • arteriosclerosis,
  • gastric catarrh,
  • varicose veins,
  • sclerosis,
  • circulatory diseases,
  • thyroid disease,
  • visual disturbances,
  • neoplastic diseases (binds radioactive cancerogenic elements),

Chokeberry fruits are abundant in nourishments and healing substances:

  • biologically active substances: anthocyanins, flavonoids, hydroxycinnamic acids, tannin agents, organic acids, easily assimilated carbohydrates (high content of polyphenols and antioxidants, in general);
  • dietary fibre, pectin – facilitate the work of digestive system and detoxicate the organism;
  • many vitamins, such as: provitamin A (carotene), B2, B6, B9, C, E, P, PP;
  • microelements: boron, zinc, phosphorus, iodine, cobalt, copper, manganese, molybdenum, potassium, calcium, magnesium, radium and iron.
  • natural antibiotics,

Even if grown beside a motorway, chokeberry fruits have low content of heavy metals harmful for humans and animals, such as: - arsenic, tin, lead.

Due to the abovementioned qualities and substances, chokeberry fruits are used in pharmaceutics for production of such drugs like Geriasol, Aronox and many others.

Chokeberry fruits are used in the production of:

  • juice,
  • stewed fruits,
  • jams,
  • jellies,
  • marmalades,
  • wine,
  • syrups,

And, moreover, it may be used as an additive in:

  • fruit tea,
  • alcohol dye,
  • food preserves dye,
  • for improvement of taste and appearance of food products,
  • for increasing the immunity of the body, anti-inflammatory, as expectorants,
  • soups and meat.

Dried fruits are used:

  • as an additive in tea,
  • as an additive in various meals,
  • hot water extracts – containing active vitamin P.
